Yes! We only offer the full property to one group at a time. Two homes, 7 acres, and 327 feet of sandy shoreline will be yours to enjoy and explore.  an answer to this item.

Liberty Pines Lodge includes three bedrooms in the main house and two private bedrooms in the guesthouse, plus two sets of twin bunk beds in the guesthouse's main area. 

With two homes, multiple bedrooms, and additional bunk sleeping, Liberty Pines Lodge is well suited for families and groups who want to vacation together while still having plenty of space. Guest capacity is based on current property and septic requirements and may change as planned improvements are completed. If you're traveling with a larger group, please reach out with your dates and group size and we'll be happy to discuss what we can accommodate. 

Yes! We provide all necessary bedding and bath towels. We simply ask that you bring your own beach and outdoor towels. 

Yes! There is a washer and dryer in each home, and we provide laundry pods for your convenience. 

Big Portage Lake is an exceptionally clean, deep, and quiet lake with a mostly sandy bottom that makes it wonderful for swimming, especially along our shoreline. It's also an excellent fishing lake, known for walleye, bass, and other Northwoods species. 

Absolutely—and it's one of our favorite things to brag about! The sandy beach at Liberty Pines Lodge is truly something special. With beautiful sandy shoreline right at the water's edge, it's the perfect spot for swimming, relaxing, building sandcastles, or simply soaking up the Northwoods. 

Yes! We provide two kayaks and two inflatable paddleboards, along with life vests for guests to enjoy the lake. 

Yes! The public boat launch is approximately a 7-minute drive from Liberty Pines Lodge. 

Yes! Many guests bring or rent a boat to fully enjoy all that Big Portage Lake has to offer. While our boat lift is not available for guest use, you are welcome to tie your boat up to our private pier. 

Yes! There are several local boat rental companies in the area, and some even offer delivery directly to the lake. 

If you're looking for a busy, party-style lake, Liberty Pines Lodge may not be the right fit. But if you love nature, relaxation, and peaceful Northwoods beauty, Big Portage Lake is hard to beat. It's a beautiful, serene setting where you can slow down, enjoy the water, watch the wildlife, and truly unplug. 

Yes! Firewood is available in the shed for guests to use during their stay. 

Yes! We have a propane grill with propane provided, along with grill tools for your convenience. 

Yes! We provide beach toys, cornhole, and life vests for guests to enjoy. 

Yes! There are a variety of outdoor seating areas throughout the property, including seating near the fire pit. We also have an outdoor dining table that seats 8 with a beautiful view of the lake. 

We are listed on both Airbnb and VRBO, but booking directly with us can save you from additional platform booking fees. Booking direct also allows us to work with you more personally throughout the reservation process. 

Closer to your stay, you’ll receive a welcome message with helpful tips, check-in instructions, and additional information about what the property provides and what you may want to bring. Our goal is to make preparing for your stay as easy as possible! 

We are happy to consider one well-trained, pre-approved dog per stay. Dogs must remain on our property and may not wander onto neighboring properties. If your dog is a shedding breed, we ask that they stay in the guesthouse during your stay. A pet fee applies. 

Because Liberty Pines Lodge is a private lakefront property with specific occupancy requirements, all overnight guests must be included in your reservation. If you'd like to have daytime visitors during your stay, please reach out to us in advance so we can confirm that your plans work within our property guidelines. 

Our quiet hours begin at 10:00 PM. Because our neighbors are nearby and sound travels especially well across the water, we ask that guests keep noise to a minimum after 10 PM. 

The following cancellation policy applies to direct bookings: 

• 60 or more days before check-in: 100% refund of amounts paid. 
• 30–59 days before check-in: 50% refund of amounts paid. 
• Less than 30 days before check-in: Amounts paid are non-refundable, unless the Owner is able to rebook at least 50% of the cancelled dates.
